PORT GUIDE / IRELAND
Dublin ferry port
Dublin has more than one ferry operation. Your departure terminal depends on the passenger or freight route you actually booked.

First find your route, then the terminal
For a passenger trip towards Liverpool via Holyhead, use the terminal named in your Dublin–Holyhead booking confirmation. The direct Dublin–Birkenhead freight operation uses different check-in arrangements. Never navigate to “Dublin Port” alone and assume every ferry leaves from the same gate.
Driving to the port?
Follow the operator’s latest directions and terminal signage. Port roads and access arrangements can change.
A simple departure checklist
- Confirm the operator and destination.Holyhead is a passenger ferry; Birkenhead is the direct freight corridor.
- Read the terminal details on your ticket.Use the exact entry or gate instructions rather than a general map pin.
- Check the live sailing status.Bring required travel documents and arrive before check-in closes.
